For the brown rice or quinoa lovers, i've got a healthier alternative! I recently discovered Spelt Grain Berries. Got this 1lb bag at Whole Foods for $4. It has more protein per serving than brown rice or quinoa combined! Although it takes up more time and water to cook, (1c of grain per 3c of h2O) it delivers a nuttier taste and fluffier texture than quinoa. With 24 grams of protein per 1c, i say its worth a try. From a healthy standpoint it is always good to try new things to shake up the palate. Can't always eat the same mundane flavor, it gets quite boring!
